Maybe. I went into it with the whole weight of Transatlanticism on my shoulders, and when it finished I was like, 'is that it?'.
yeah that's exactly what i thought the first time i listened to this. Now, the only song i don't like is Crooked Teeth

Only a 3? I would honestly have to say that this is my closed 4.5 to becomming a 5. Soul Meets Body was the first time I had ever heard Death Cab and I instantly fell in love.

I actually started here and worked my way backward through their discography, so I prefer this over their old stuff.

This album just isn't close to Transatlanticism. I mean, it's all nice and poppy and breezy and catchy and pretty good, but it has absolutely none of the emotional weight.

Oh wait, I had The Photo Album before this, but wow is that a monotonous album. "Styrofoam Plates" was about the only interesting moment there. I also haven't given Transatlanticism as much time as this one, but I really didn't feel compelled to.

Brothers on a Hotel Bed has to be the most emotional DCFC song. Gets me every time I hear that piano melody
