I've never heard them before this album, but I think I'd get bored if there wasn't some variation to the tempos, so the groove is good (IMO).
I've only heard this album twice and that song once. Maybe I'd enjoy it more now that I won't be waiting for them to change the vocals up.

I'd give Eschaton a shot too. In my opinion, it's a little better than this one. The vocals are a bit more raw, which is a bonus (or not). The albums are kind of even in my book. I like them both for what they do differently, but if I had to choose a favorite, I'd stick with Eschaton.
