But apart from that and the overtly religious lyrics of The Mistress I did really like the tracks on Myspace

For someone who gave Underoath a 5, I find this really hypocritical

Fair call, but I find myself connecting with Underoath more. More to the point, in context with their album the references to God seem more like desperate shout outs for help than proclamations of faith.

Both bands use their faith as concepts in their music, in equally effective ways.

Fair enough. All I'm saying is that I thought it was a little to overt in that particular song. In their other songs I don't mind it.

I thought you were a fan of more "raw" bands though, John?

I appreciate where you're coming from; however I really do think the band have nailed it, which is especially impressive for a band from a rural part of Australia.

Okay, maybe rural wasn't the right word.

What I mean is that it's not exactly a well known spot, like Sydney or Melbourne.

Considering Sydney, Melbourne and maybe Brisbane are the only cities alot of people outside Australia know of anyway....not saying much. =P

But Cairns is a pretty established city.

As far as I know it's strictly available for order from them; you can also pick them up at shows.

All I'm saying is that the captial cities in Australia have established music scenes. Can't really say the same about places like Cairns.

billy, if you live anywhere near ringwood, you should visit the music store fist2face
they stock mainly australian underground stuff ranging from rock to metal, and specialize particularly in hardcore
i get a lot of rarer stuff from there, and i can guarantee they'd stock this. plus awesome t-shirts and random merch. it's a pretty sick store
