I actually reccomend the reviews on sputnik all the time on the AP boards.
I brought up join dates because Snackary has been here 4 months so hasn't had full exposure to Chan's posting habits.

I've been here a year longer than Chan so I've seen his entire "career" on Sputnik Music and no one not even that iarescientist guy has made more spam/worthless posts.

About lunch's comment,
I see your point, that the Christian messages obviously do pervade the music to a degree, but Weiss himself doesn't believe they're a Christian band and DOESN'T try to force his religion down people's throats. As well, I happen to listen Happy Hollow and all sorts of metal and "anti-Christian" music even though I myself am a Christian.
And, I see your point Nanook, perhaps I should say "any open-minded anti-Christian or non-believer."
I was actually just hoping for some good criticism of my writing style, you know, neg's or pos's are both appreciated as long I get a reason why for the neg's.This Message Edited On 10.29.08

Well I try to be as logical as possible with my critic's qualms with my writings and opinions and stuff.
Edit: Wait, lunch, wtf, how can you say everything that Weiss talks about is Christian? More often than naught he's just talking about himself and his personal troubles that don't have to do with Christianity. I dunno, I feel like you're overgeneralizing there. This Message Edited On 10.29.08

I've listened to this and Brother, Sister numerous times and AB Life maybe once and the vast majority of their songs in some way involve God or biblical references.
But regardless this is not why I don't like this band despite what other may have you believe.
Check out my 5/5 rated albums. One of them is Sam Cooke, a gospel singer. So many of his songs directly involve praising Jesus or God. Another is John Contrane's A Love Supreme. If you read the booklet to that album he basically says the entire thing is written for God and goes on at length about his faith.

^^^^^^^
Then why would you say that this album will turn off non-believers if you yourself listen to non-secular music that definitely is more direct in its references to God? Seems contradictory.

Well it turns me off (obviously Coltrane is instrumental so not an issue there) but if the music were my thing then I'd still listen to it.

well then, let's drop the Christian stigma here and focus on the actual music, please.
And, yes, Disaster Tourism is the fucking shit.

You brought the issue up by claiming people shouldn't care what the singer is singing about which is insane.

And it's a complete double standard anyway. It's perfectly okay for christians to like music more when it's christian cause they relate to the message but not okay for non christians to like music less when they don't relate to the message? Pretty unfair.

No, I brought up the point that just because they don't believe in his faith they shouldn't totally reject what he's saying, since most of it is very relatable to anybody with a heart or conscience.

And yet because he's a performer to more than a Christian audience he should have to censor his beliefs to be accepted? That's fucking unfair.

chan listened to a lot of bad christian music himself at one time!

Gah! I'm sick of this shit.
I have nothing against lunchforthesky or his argument because i used to be put off by overtly religious overtones in music too, but come on. you knew damn well how people would overreact to your commet. hell, its happened how many times before? And seriously, since when has throwing a bitch session about something not seen eye to eye on ever swayed anybody. people just give up and let it die. its just the internets.
