I can't tell if this is my biggest guilty pleasure or it just IS the best thing ever? Hmmm.

@Anthrax If you think TPIAGA is unworthy of classic status because it is the same riff repeated, you are completely missing the point. That song builds to an emotional breakdown (and subsequent transformation into transvestite) despite being the same riff. It is vocal delivery and human emotion for the most part that achieves that and that's what makes it one of the best songs ever.

It is a classic song, but Kevin has much better songs, and that is the least of Montreal song in the of Montreal discography, so it is not a good representative of his sound. You're talking to one of the biggest of Montreal fans in the world, so if you think I don't appreciate that song you cray.

Irrespective as to whether the song is like other more complex of Montreal compositions, I don't agree that any song is unworthy of objective praise just because it is repetitive

So I jammed this for the first time last night and it was great. There is something captivating pulsating around every corner, and it's an album of many corners.

I'm indifferent to this one which is a shame because I love 'Hissing Fauna' & find 'False Priest' to be underrated.

I'm just now delving into their discog. I randomly picked up coquelicot asleep in the poppies years ago and love that, so I'm the more disjointed and spastic their stuff is the more I dig it.

I've listened to most of their stuff now and this is a clear standout for me. Almost everything is like 3-3.5 level but this this really connects for some reason.

Ok, I will give it a listen. Hope it is actually better than go farther in lightness [or whatever that albums name is], as I found it merely solid.

Ha! Buy the ticket, take the ride. This is amazing start to finish imo but I think An Eluardian Instance and Gallery Piece are an awesome digestible combo of songs if a person wanted to ease into the album.

Good bump... I needed a reminder of how much I love this album

This album is probably the most sexual of all time, the lyrics are literally very sexual... it's actually a little inconsistent, quality-wise. As a bashful Brit, it can be a little much at times, although some of it is also rather amusing.

I definitely need a relisten of this one.

Porno-grind, just without the grind.
Have you last year's oM Sandwich? I think it's close to their peak, in fact only 'Hissing Fauna' is better by my reckoning. I've not heard everything mind.

I misjudged this. It's gotta be a 3-3.5. "Eluardian Instance" is a beaut
