Metaphors seem to work better. Brian Harvey's lone accelerating drums in the bridge of "Loathsome" are like the brief spell in between road tunnels;
thats a simile, asshole

I get the feeling I should listen to this...I've been avoiding the band for a while since a guy I know is in love with them...his other favorite bands include Waking The Cadaver and Brain Drill so yeah...

Pig Destroyer are much better than both those bands. Actually, infinitely better I'd say.
Great review Chan for an absolutely immense album.

Chan = Most helpful person/reviewer on sputnik, by far.
Also, I'd like to thank you on the review for The Tallest Man On Earth, I was skeptical about that at first but now I love it.
But my download for this isn't going great which is extremely irritating. I imagine I'll just buy it eventually. Amazing review once again.

This review basically puts into words everything I love about this album and band. Excellent work. There are enough reviews (both on Sputnik and around the net) that focus on the music entirely. The same can't be said for the artistic merit found within the band's work and what they represent, so this review was definitely appropriate. Pig Destroyer are some of the finest artists working in the extreme music scene today. It's tough to put into words just what their music means to me, but J.R.'s lyrics are equal parts primal and poetic. These guys are almost single-handedly upping the ante for creativity for all things heavy with every release. Too bad they don't tour much. I'd kill to see them live...
