Morello's always been one of my favorite musicians, though his Nightwatchman stuff isn't that great. I probably will just skip this album.

Excellent review...it seems like you really wanted to like this but just couldn't...i've never really liked morello, tho he does have his moments, maybe i'll listen to the Serj-included tracks for gigles, nice work nevertheless

this sounds bad. I might check out a few songs from it, but if its anything like you say it is, ill probably end up not listening to more than 1 or 2 songs

ya I won't deny that this is probably garbage. I heard some singles on the radio and they were quite pretentious. Still, RATM era Tom Morello is a force to be reckoned with, he just needs to leave the lyrics to Zack. This Message Edited On 10.06.08

I had hope that maybe this would be better than his first release, but no, he really hasn't improved. stick to the 40,000 pedals.
Horrible? I bet you don't know anything about politics so don't call someone's who is well educated and intelligent opinions "horrible"
I sincerely lol'd
And even if this album was poor, Tom is a legend, and will always be.
Tom is pretty overrated and isnt that great at guitar compared to people that actually skilled at playing the instrument rather than making cool noises like Bulls On Parade bullshit.
Well his delivery of his opinions IS, dare I say, horrible. His opinion of not liking Bush is fine. "I pray that God himself will drown the president" is just a bad lyric and is either trying too hard to be provocative or is just immature.
Do you know how inconceivably shallow and trite this makes Tom Morello? Do you fail to comprehend the amount of liquid stupidity that this man spits from his mouth?
The whole "I will support any candidate who pledges to prosecute Bush for war crimes" is just embarrassing.
I know. Its a crime against lyrics, and a humongous embarrassment to modern liberal society.

Great review as usual Spat Out Sexy Men. I kind of expected this to be awful.

McP needs to relax, I doubt that you're aware that Tom has a degree in political sciences, so he's obviously educated and intellegent.
The fact that you judge his entire guitar skill level to one song is ridulous. Maybe Bulls On Parade is a weak performance(I dislike the song in general) but what about Fistful Of Steel, or Know Your Enemy? Tom was one of first guitarist to encorporate a funk, wha guitar sound in almost all his work, and is definitely an excellent guitarist. I agree there are better guitarists for sure, but Tommy is getting way too much flak these days. This Message Edited On 10.06.08

why the fuck is there no right wing musicians?
Not even christian bands seem to be conservative. wtf.
|
| |
why the **** is there no right wing musicians?
Avenged Sevenfold.
lol
|
| |
why the **** is there no right wing musicians? playing rock music is fairly non-traditional. i'd gamble there are a larger percentage of studio musicians who are conservative, tho

well put. Uninterestingly enough, forever the sickest kids are too... but that is largely to do with them being from my home state, Texas, and most likely being underexposed to external thought. truth, so truth

So how does it feel to know that someones kid in the heart of america
Has blood on their hands, fighting to defend your rights
So you can maintain the lifestyle that insults this family's existance
Well, where I'm from we have a special salute we aim high in the air
Towards all those pompous assholes who spend their days pointing fingers
**** you
Ssssshhhhh, quiet... might piss somebody off.

I bet he's gonna want to reunite with De La Rocha after this...

Lol, thats true. Good review, I downloaded this like some people recommended, instead of buying it. It was a bit repetitive...

I always figured they didn't let him do vocals in Rage for a reason.
Plus all this acoustic political babble never sounded that interesting.

Tom never sang in RATM because it wouldn't fit the style artard, they're a thrash band, his singing is geared towards folk.
