I listened to this today and Declaration really beat mys ass. This trumps The Truth without question and forget what I said about a lack of heaviness. Same goes for the keyboards.

I'm loving the new influences Bleeding Thgrough toy with, especially Brandon's higher pitched black metal like vocals and the dark ambient-esque "The Loving Memory Of England. Honestly, i'm quite impressed with this record. One of the top metalcore records of 2008. Also the bass player's clean vocals on the last track. Fuck ATR.This Message Edited On 10.03.08

Sister Charlatan is the best thing Bleeding Through has ever done. One of the greatest metal choruses i've ever heard as well. Good to see the bass player drop a dub from time to time.

as much as i want to agree with you i think Savior, Saint, Salvation on Portrait is still their crowning acheivement as far as a single song goes.
and i wish more people would check this out, its a very well done album. This Message Edited On 10.06.08

havent known bleeding through for that long, just before The Truth...
but Declaration is without a doubt a shining star in metalcore
the rawness and the atmosphere of the entire album is ridiculous... the breakdown in Declaration blew my front two speakers so they are definately doing something right in my opinion lol

123. The breakdown in Sister Charlatan overlapping the piano run is immense. It's a shame that I haven't heard "Portrait" fully considering i've been into the band for years. I'm finding it pronto. This Message Edited On 10.07.08

good review and good album. the truth made me hate this band for a few years but i am very pleased with the declaraition. i love black metal so i like the black metal influence. i think that if they went more blackened death that'd be nice. breakdowns are kind of cheesy in metalcore now. but i think they did a great job mixing the genres with out sounding too cult or true. they maintan a good sound overall.

Brandon at times goes pretty high pitched slightly resembling b.m as well as the Dimmu Borgirish but really cool keyboards. I agree with Mike though.

What, Wolves Among Sheep/ I have the dvd and must have missed it if so. Nonetheless they get even more bonus points for that along with the shared love for Black Flag and Danzig.
