laaaaaaaaand hooooooo

always wondered if this band was named after a busy street near my job and I just learned that yes they are.
|
| |
I'm really looking forward to their new album. Hope to catch them live as well.
|
| |
wait, their debut came out in 1995, this, which was essentially their "break up" album, came out in 2005, and their reunion album is coming out later this year, in 2015.
conspiracy?
|
| |
The new album's fuckin great, just don't expect anything like they've done before
And I dunno about a conspiracy, but it was likely intentional
|
| |
watch they break up for good in 2025
|
| |
Dude if you're right I'll mail you like $10 or something

"my whole life looks like a picture of a sunny day"
My favorite line of the album. So happy yet dark and sad.

I like how even though Corin's vocals take a bit of a step back compared to their previous stuff, it allows Carrie's guitar to truly shine. Her work here is fucking phenomenal - the riffs, the solos, top notch all around.

check this and Dig Me Out for starters, this band has a fantastic discog in general
|

I listened to the one from this year. It was decent, but not amazing.

Seems like No Cities to Love is more for prior fans of the band, it's not really the best starting point.
Dig Me Out is more punk, almost post-hardcoreish, and The Woods is more garage/noise rock. Can't go wrong with either though

I'd say No Cities to Love is one of their more "safe" albums, the songs are definitely more focused on big choruses and the production is much cleaner.
That said I still really enjoyed it (I have it at a 4), but I had already been somewhat of a fan before hearing it, so you have a point
