I'd say so

i disagree with the review. The vocals have some cringe moments (Indignation being the most ridiculous). But i didn't think the vocals ruined the entire album. Honestly, it just sounded like their last album, which was good.

I think the problem with this album is it's just really...boring. Nothing stuck out to me when I listened through. Aside from the Incurable Tragedy trio thing, everything else is just kinda bleh.

I may check this out but I didn't like the last one (The Scattering of Ashes), so I am probably going to steer clear of this for a while. don't bother it's like scattering of the ashes only worseThis Message Edited On 08.25.08

While I can tell you definitely don't like the cd I can't really find out what exactly makes it deserve a 1.5. This whole review just seems like an angry rant to me.

There's no way in hell that this album is a 1.5. I havent heard the whole thing yet, but what I have heard was awesome.

Diagnosis Terminal was one of my least favorites to be honest, I really loved Tides of Blood, and Spent Years of Regret.
I may lower this to a 3 though, it does seem to be seriously lacking something, I just can't say exactly what it is. I never lose interest when listening to the album, but I just feel it could be a lot better.

It's repetitive and no songs have that real 'umph' factor. I can understand people liking this a lot, but I can't stand how they are so A.D.D. with their songwriting and how the transitions within the songs are so abrupt. There's really no flow from my standpoint.

Mikael Akerfeldt, of Opeth fame, sounds like a vocal God always fixed

I sort of agree with Ryan a lot but I also kinda like the album, albeit not a lot. It's just TSoA without the enthusiasm, and the concept is horribly depressing. I mean, Tim Roth's situation with all these people around him dropping off like flies is certainly sad but it ends up being a little much the way the album conveys it.

This review lost credibility in my eyes after the "vocal travesty" line. Stu is an incredible and versatile vocalist.
I must say that this is one of the band's weaker efforts with some of the worst production and mix the band has seen since their early material, and a lot of the songs are just very by-the-numbers into eternity material. Still a fair album though.

I see that alot more with this album. Their back catalogue, I don't know why, I kind of liked their awkward song writing.

Wow this album is disappointing. The vocals just ruined it for me.

and lol at the end of "Time Immemorial". The melody is pretty much the exact same as BiO's title track.

In between a 3 and 3.5 right now. I went with 3.5 just because I love this band.
