It's decent, it's grown on me, but it's no where close to a 5.

lol you never will see a deathcore album rated a 5 on this site.

doesnt mean that there arent any fives, just means the people on this site either deny how good some deathcore is or genuinely dont like it or wont give it a chance.

most likely they just generally dont like it, but then again a lot of people on this site suck each other off so idk

I think a 5 rating for this cd is pretty hasty seeing how their previous release pretty much blows this one away.I rate All Things Set Aside a 4.5 because unlike this album its not overly technical and Adam was a much more diversitile vocalist.I still think this is a great cd though, just needed a couple more original tracks.

i was a bit disappointed when i first listened to this record, reason being that not all of the tracks sounded like 'crawl back,' 'it's not safe to swim today,' or most notably 'we bow in its aura.' a lot of the other riffs were somewhat mediocre and hastily assembled with few exceptions. the other songs weren't unbearably bad, in fact, they were decent. but one can not write a song as awesome as 'we bow in its aura' and expect to get away with skimping on other material.

the breakdowns, as 'unique' as some may dub them, often climax at a dull chug-chug. this band could learn a thing or two from the faceless and a.d.d. out a few measures into a breakdown. that or revert to shitty deathcore with lyrical content written by an angry fifth-grader. (i.e. suicide silence) but hell, an amazing amount of potential. let's hope the next effort features a more ubiquitous allusion to the musical talent this band possesses.

Most of the songs have a few really neat, shining moments, but overall most of the songs arent too great.

My fav. track is the last one "It's Torn Away".. that song blows most of the other songs outa the waterrr. This Message Edited On 11.03.08

It's Torn Away has a couple of the best riffs on the album. Actually, I wanna say they're the last two.

I borrowed this from a friend and I've seen them live a few times (they opened a lot of shows) and they were solid. Only gripe I have is that it includes too many breakdowns. Breakdowns are nice if used...intelligently, and that isn't to say these aren't, but only a few really stand out.

It's Torn Away, It's Not Safe To Swim Today, and we Bow In It's Aura have some awesome parts and stand out the most to me. That spacey like guitar effect on We Bow In It's Aura is haunting...It's awesome. Mark The Lines has a really cool breakdown (double breakdown?) which breaks into something pretty interesting...polyrhythmic and what not.

As a whole, if they let more riffs come in and had half the breakdowns and incorporated some smart riffing and composition like their stand out tracks, this would be a great album. I see them getting ahead though, considering the genre is over-saturated with terrible bands and monotony. This is pretty refreshing for the genre.

Tbh, it just isn't my thing. Also, most deathcore bands I've encountered tend to be huge idiots. They make up the most ****ing retarded song names they can thing of. They think it's clever when really it's just stupid. I just will not listen to a song called "Hey those Whales Are Blasting Awesome Deathcore out of their Low Riding Pickup Trucks."

Eakflanderyof, that may be true about some bands and their song titles, but really is it any different than lots of death and black metal bands?

they have one guitarist retard. and i don't get how everybody seems to dislike this band. they're pretty friggin talented people, and their breakdowns are ridiculous, but in a good way.
