Thanks man. Usually my final paragrapghs aren't really that quality since I never go to far with them but i'm thinking I should follow up on my next ones with the same thought and time.

Really, really impressive review Balls. Your descriptions make me want to check this album out.

From what I've heard in the past, these guys are sound nothing like Opeth, but I understand you were just using them as a reference and and not a direct comparison.

Thank you wizard and headcharge. @Wizard, the Opeth influence only tends to make an appearance on this album. Dismantling tends to be more like Katatonia and Paradise Lost. The clean vocals here though, sound like Akerfeldt.

I was gonna say, the songs I have heard sound like a doomier Katatonia (with more growls).

Okay, Dismantling Devotion was better than I remember, but I think I still like this more.

Huh, the general consesus would agree with you Angel but I thought Dismantling had more standouts.

It's funny, I feel the opposite. Devotion seemed to have a more unified and pervasive sound/mood, whereas here tracks like Cathedral, A Subtle Violence, The Morning Light, and A Portrait in White (my fav) standout to me more than anything on Devotion.

Na, Swallow The Sun blows. I haven't heard enough Novembers Doom to judge. Hope was shit, but Morning Never Came had a couple cool tracks. Old Celestial Season and Martyre from Saturnus are worth checking out, and maybe the new Withered album too.

Swallow the Sun is alright. What I've heard from November's Doom was decent. This kills them both.

In your last paragraph the song off devotion is actually "solitary refinement".

Swallow the Sun and Novembers Doom annihilate Daylight Dies. Give Ghosts of Loss and The Pale Haunt Departure a listen and you'll understand. This Message Edited On 08.03.08

I've listened to Ghosts of Loss and Pale Hunt more than once. Like this better.

Swallow the Sun is pretty good. What I've heard from Novembers Doom was ok. Nothing special.

I disagree with Zoo for once. Naa, Daylight > Swallow. New album is a complete borefest. Draconian> swallow without question.
