Happy 60th review Doom King rasputin! Nice short and sweet review. I swear I saw the name of this album and went 'rasputin' hahaha. I wish I was known around here for having a specialty in a sub-genre . Sounds interesting enough to check out, but I still haven't been able to crack the shell of what it takes to really get into doom. The whole death metal aspect of this intrigues me and might be a gateway in.
but that is why I click the "more reviews" link and scan down looking for reviews by people I generally read or bands that sound interesting,
Exactly how I pick up on good bands too, seeing as I'm not on here everyday (wish I could be though).

Thanks for all the comments guys.
Does this have real or programmed drums? If they're real I'm getting this now.
I'm very certain that they're real.

The best ways to get into doom are both traditional doom and death/doom. I'd recommend you get this and Mourning Beloveth - The Sullen Sulcus for some quality death/doom, and probably Solitude Aeternus - Into the Depths of Sorrow and Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus for trad doom.

real or not, the drums kind of put me off. they seem so empty...i dunno. also the last track kind of bores me. almost to the point of skipping it.
but really those are the only real problems i have with this album.
oblivion upon us pretty much owns this whole album and my soul.
so um yeah, this is an excellent review, although i did have to read the third paragraph a few times to get it. but im pretty sure that's just because i just woke up.
oh, and happy 60th review.

yeah, I guess the third paragraph is a little long and I sort of talk vaguely about sub-genres so it might be a little pointless. I won't bother changing it though, it's not too bad.

Thanks for the recommendations rasputin!

Finally got to this. Serious doom. The title/last track is immense.

eal or not, the drums kind of put me off. they seem so empty. they're way too stiff so sounding, but then again a lot of funeral doom drummers are like that
|
| |
Yeah, it's not like doom is known for its drumming, so it doesn't bother me at all. I hardly notice the drumming anyway.

....Dooooooooooooom.
Good review as always.

just got the new album in the mail, it's intense

yeah I had a listen to it the other day, it's not too bad. Nothing really stuck out to me, but that was off one half-arsed listen.
|
| |
rasputin, what's the heaviest, most crushing doom you know of?
I may give this a listen, I need to explore the genre more.

if you want heavy and crushing, don't bother with this. Off the top of my head, give Ataraxie - Slow Transcending Agony a listen.

Danke. I shall check it out.

No worries mate.
