This album divides itself into two sections: the epic portion and the more epic portion, with the latter presenting some of the most stunning and beautiful music I have laid my ears upon

This.

One of the best albums I've ever heard, in my top 5.

I'm getting even more anxious for this to come in the mail now. I'm hoping I'll have it in the next hour. If not I'll probably kill someone.

Nice to see this finally reviewed. Prolog Auf Erden is one of the best intro songs I have heard. It got me sopumped and the album did not disapoint. I really love the folk melody in Unbesiegt.

Good review too

Yeah, the whole album is amazing, but all the tracks 6 minutes plus steal the show.

This album is just too epic not to be a 5. The last half of the album seems more epic than the first half though tbh.

It is. Heimwarts kind of winds the first half down, then Heiderauche brings the second half in and you (me, whoever lol) can't believe that all the tracks that follow are actually more epic (and overall just better) than all the amazing tracks that came before.

Blut Im Auge is the second best song on here though.

The main melody in Blute Im Auge plus the low growls of Helge gives me chills. I have had it stuck in my head for 3 days now.

Haha, I have this entire album stuck in my head to the point where I don't even know what song I'm humming cause it's all so damn good, my brain just randomly picks any melody/riff from any song.

Hey, that riff in Snuffel is a blatant and deliberate (and cool) copy/cover of....fuck me I know it, someone help me out, uber-popular song, I know as soon as someone says it I'll feel like an idiot for not remembering.

Pretty sure its La Grange (ZZ Top) i thought the same thing.

But i think its really just a standard/common blues riff that they just beefed up really.

La Grange utilizes it for the verses though. This Message Edited On 07.21.08

Oh, and I have to throw this album one more bone before I go to sleep. One of the last lines of complaint in metal at large is that the bass (guitar) doesn't come through that much. It does here. Most of the playing is simply (from what I can tell) but it gives most of the songs a strong backbone and I recently realized that much of what I hum from this album is actually the bass line.

Oh, and the solos, though short, fit perfectly, and are never overdone. Dammit this album rules.

Oh shit, ZZ Top, you're absolutely right bodom. A nice touch on the album This Message Edited On 07.21.08
