That performance of Falling Slowly in the music store is pure chills. And that scene where Markéta Irglová is walking home from picking up some batteries might be one of my favourite musical numbers in any film period.

Literally a perfect film. Really enjoy Sing Street as well!
I’ve been plugging this all over the place, but I can’t recommend the Broadway cast recording enough. Some absolutely beautiful arrangements and performances of already beautiful songs.
Here’s “Gold” from the Tony Awards. The choreography and harmonies are fascinating: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pXCSdpJVe7I

Yeah Lucman both scenes fucking rule. The one where she plays him the song on the piano fucks me up

Can’t believe this movie is 13 years old. Acting is a bit weak but 5 minutes in, when Glen busts into and blares “Say It To Me Now” ; outstanding!
