The wood block/cowbell in that song makes me want to stab something. Everything else is pretty rad though.

Got a live video of parliament with george clinton. Michael Hampton (i think thats it) plays maggot brain perfectly live. He looks like a huge black raper but just blows everything away once he starts hitting the guitar

as far as ten minute guitar solos go maggot brain goes by really quickley, there are few guitarists ive ever heard put more emotion into the guitar. I only wish this album had a couple more tracks, classic albums seem to pass on 7-8 tracks!

The title track is awesome. It's mind-boggling that some pentatonic soloing can sound so good.
Not really sure what to think of the last track. This is a good album, though, definitely. I love the deep vocals on Can You Get To That (The ones that go "I wanna know").

Within the first minute of Maggot Brain, you knew this was far different from anything Parliament/Funkadelic has ever done. When Geroge Clinton says "I would drown in my own shit" it still makes me laugh, yet haunts me. Every track has amazing guitar. I love this album. But my favorite song on it would be "Can You Get to That." Some great stuff.
