Hear in the Now Frontier unfortunately was the beginning of the end for the best Prog Metal band of the 80's.

Some good moments but not even close to match their previous work.

It's hard to say for sure who was better during that time period... Fates Warning or Queensryche. They both have their pluses and minuses.

How was nirvana at the top in 1997 when cobain was dead and Grohl was in Foo fighters? 97 was hardly a year for grunge, it was pretty much dead.

I've never been a die-hard fan of Fates Warning but I understand why so many people love the band.

Creepy avatar btw.

I was wondering about the Nirvana reference, too. Also, I hear absolutely NO Alice In Chains on this album... None at all. I don't really care for this album and it's a shame that DeGarmo has his name attached to it. Maybe he should have bailed after Promised Land.

Kurt was dead and the band was bigger than ever. Foo Fighters would have probably never even landed a major label deal without Grohl's name already being well known. Grunge/alternative was doing just fine.

I have BCSL rated lower but it's odd comparing an album with 3 minute tracks to one with 10 minute ones
