Album isn't complex at all. I just find it flows well.

5 stars? Blah.

After listening to it a lot, I haven't come to the conclusion that this album is pure amazing. What I do like is its varied approach. I can bag the album, nor can I praise it. It's a good release, but not amazingly brilliant.

Burden has got to be one of my favourites though. This Message Edited On 06.13.08

Hahahaha seems early for a 5 star but I've probably listened to this album more times than any other person on this website hahaha. Just a really smooth album.

Man you got balls of steel to give an opeth album a 2.5/5, plus that it is your first review. Welcome! :thumb:

I think that I am the only anti-Opeth person on this site so I will never listen to this.

Smooth is certainly a good way to describe it, but yeah, I dunno. Good, and enjoyable music from a good band.

It's true though^^^. There is tons of atmosphere flying around each song. Thats the one thing I like about this album; the fact that each song has a different feel to it. Yet it fits together so well.

According to Mikael the vocals on Watershed were mixed differently for each song at a significant level. That probably helps.

Interesting.

It's not so much the vocals I found different on each song. Rather, there seems to be a different mood set for each tune. Album is just not wearing off. I've been obsessed with this since it came out.

Heir Apparent is such a classic Opeth song, but the rest just isn't up to snuff.

Hessian Peel is the best song on here by far. The clean exotic like guitars in the beginning go into a field of madness in the middle to deliver my favorite part of the album. That is the best song on here and is the best song I've heard this year.

This and Protest The Hero's new albums are the best this year so far.

Best of 2008 top ten =/= Fortress! Way too hyped up! Songs are really haphazard. Good musicianship but not worth half the hype that most people around here make it out to be.

Heir Apparent has such an amazing part starting at 3:30 with the 'King Crimson like' part that follows into the super heavy part of the song. Simply wow! This Message Edited On 06.13.08

Close, but I still love Deliverance the most. The song 'Deliverance' alone owns the entire Opeth catalogue.
