Yeah, the instrumentation does rule throughout most of the album. I tend to look past the vocals, maybe next album he'll vary them up a bit?

yeah vocals are really the only downfall here. well, actually, i'd like to hear some more interesting guitar leads. while i love the atmosphere that he presents and uses with the leads, i think it'd be cool for every once in a while he just broke into a badass solo without all the melody, i know he has the talent for it and there are definitely some moments that a fast, more shredding solo would fit well in. but overall, great call, this is probably one of the best bands i've ever heard with the "metalcore" tag on them. their melodic sound is so refreshing

You're right about the whole badass solo thing btw. But yeah the silent divide is the song that has the highest play count from this album on my iTunes.

This sounds like it has some power metal influence as well, to me. I'm barely hearing the metalcore aspect. This is pretty solid though, but I think a little underwhelming overall

I don't think this is the newer metalcore that you might be thinking of.
