This band on this disc is disgusting for what it is.... for those that say its metalcore, i say they are a hardcore band, and "sounds like everyone else"? i can pick this band out of a crowd instantly they absolutely have they're own sound, i dont know of any one that was playing anything that was close to "exactly the same" as this.... and their drummer is an animal.

i can listen to "the color of money" every now and then. good pit songs. but not a masterpiece by ANY stretch of the imagination.

I honestly really like this band, but if you have heard them they obviously never set out to be original or to release a masterpeice because this isn't.
They were and are one of the first mosh bands and so many bands have ripped off their sound.
They aren't hardcore or metalcore its just mosh even thought its not really a proper genre.

The record that lives up to it's volaitile thunderous description as there's just some absolutely grimly vicious diabtres against the counter point as these guys want to destroy everything in their path and become the ultimate breakdown theirselves. This certainely helped establish the band as one of the leaders of the current tough guy moshcore scene if not forever etched in our memories with the infamous onstage accident that split the lead singer's head open.I think it's refreshing they like to try and not be all serious all the time with their image as the Tom Cruise titles for songs and neat polished wardrobes. These are the elements a true statemnt consists off.

i fucking love this its heavy and never lets up throughout the whole cd. worth at least a 3.5/

anyone that says that this is not hardcore deserves to have their heads blown off.. this is one of the greatest albums ever made, and i think that matt's vocals are perfect and the use of new post-hardcore vibes while still keeping the old style alive makes it a masterpiece. the use of real passion that hardcore has, to express pain and a mellow hatred, is perfect. this is one of the greatest reviews i have read on this and keep up the good work dude...i wish bury your dead would come back to this and pick it up where they left off before this new shitty singer messed up their good name...just reading ur review made me listen to it. great album
and joebass: where in any of their songs do they talk about being tough guys, i think u should be the first to be shot.

Not a big evolution from the first complete album. This is hardcore , this is heavy and brutal (perfect for real hardcore fan but not good for metalcore fan). Not enough melody for me.
there is 2 song I did kinda like :
-magnolia ( a bit of melody in it)
-The color of money (good hardcore song)
the rest is the same stuff song after song.
