This album along with TCATS is a great 1-2 punch if youre just getting into the FF. I love this album, its a great singalong album from start to finish, and is very diverse, but doesnt stretch out too far, stays consistent with the sound. It shows that the FF can be humorous and upbeat after listening to something as gripping and haunting as TCATS. Must have folks. This Message Edited On 12.01.06

This is probably my favorite foos album. I love every song. Basically everything except for breakout and stacked actors is so beautiful and so refreshing. when you listen to this album it's like you've been in the hot sun for like five hours and then you step into an air conditioned house. sorry, had to be cheezy there.

Nice review!
It's a great album. More mainstream than the previous Foo albums, but in this case, it's a good thing.

how the fuck does this have a 3.8, it should be at least a 4.
this is right up there with TCATS. its a different and experimental album and its fucking good, it shows how mellow and laid back the Foo's are, and its a great sing along album. you people fucking suck this albums awesome.
its a totally different album than the last and its supposed to be. its supposed to be the way it is.This Message Edited On 03.01.07

I don't think the Foo Fighters are an average band, I don't really understand that. Sure, most of their stuff isn't AMAZING, and I've decided that there is such thing as a music syndrome, Dave Grohl syndrome in this case (writing lyrics that REALLY doesn't fit the music/Sticking to very obvious song structures) but really, they aren't that bad at all, and some of their stuff (particularly watching them live, one of the best experiences of my life) blows me away! Maybe I'm a sucker for mainstream rock, but I personally think this stands above most other mainstream rock, and I've always seen this as a pretty good album, although not at all their best. Dave Grohl is a pretty good songwriter, whatever way you look at it, even if you don't really like the finished product of the songs, or his voice.

I've got the s/t at 4.5, Colour and the Shape at 4, and this at 3.5. For me the Foos just slowly decline over the years. I really enjoy them though, they always make solid music.
