trivium are a talented band and have a lot of potential, but in my opinion they are not doing anything ground-breaking or new. they are just a metalcore/thrash metal band with rather good guitarists.they are not breaking the rules or bieng different, they are very easy to play as its bassicaly 1 finger drop-d metal with decent solos. if they were to venture into a broader style like jazz / progressive metal, they may do really well This Message Edited On 08.03.05

These guys are awesome. Havent heard this one except Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr, but Ember to Inferno was and is pretty awesome.

i dont understand why the so called singer has to scream, it just seems absolutly pointless to me.
this band are the kind of band that seem manufactured and unoriginal, thrash metal (metal itself as well)has become very popular recently, and many bands seem to jump on the bandwagon so to speak, and these seem to be one of them.
though im not taking away the fact that the album may be good, and obviously the muscians are very talented, i would prefer to listen to pop than this.
overall i just cant stand screaming frontmen, he doesnt seem to have a very bad voice, so i dont understand why he seems to scream.

Tvivium is a great band and has some really good songs, however. There are many more bands who are way better.
Note: for the guy who said he likes "melodic metal", like qotsa, soad, and disturbed.
Try something thats real metal and actually melodic, such as Kamelot, Dream theater, (older) In Flames.

Power Metal! Name some bands

dragon force
helloween

Acendancy is the best metal album since Leviathan
|

This album, like all thrash, is very repetitive and gets boring after about seven listens. VERY boring. I think Dying in Your Arms is terrible, as it sounds like an emo song to me.

I though Leviathan was way better than this. It was sort of different, whereas this just seems like bland melodic metal. One becomes supersaturated in melody after listening to this. Plus, Heafy sounds like he's about to burst a major vein when he screams.

*I'm more of a Strokes fan

Mazz567, "Dying In Your Arms" isn't emo. Go to the emo community thread.

Trivium is a pretty good band musically, but I don't like it when that guy screams. His singing voice is better and he should just do that.

How can people say it's as good as early Metallica, or they are the next Metallica?
Metallica were (pretty much) original. While although trivium are okay, they're not re-inventing the wheel here.
