Album Rating: 3.5
This album is the hardest one of Oasis to rate. Simply 'cuz it's sometimes pure genius, as in songs such as "Acquiesce", "Underneath the sky" and "Talk Tonight" while some songs are almost rubbish, like "Going Nowhere" (although I for once think the orchestral parts are great) and Swamp song. I'll /sign on the overall rating though, not the individual ones

I completely disagree with the score for "Going Nowhere". I think it was one of their few worthwhile tunes written during the Be Here Now era. I also think "Talk Tonight" is at the least a 4.5. The cover of "I Am the Walrus" is not that good. They should've put a different song on there, say, maybe, "Whatever". I think "Rockin' Chair" is at least a 3.5. But those are all objective, depending on the listener's tastes. Good review. Oasis have some great b-sides, "Acquiesce" and "The Masterplan" especially.

I heard the rest of talk tonight was about a girl he met after he walked away from a u.s tour. the one where someone( I think liam) threw a tambourine at him and nearly broke his nose. if that's true then it makes the 2nd verse a little more meaningful.

It's a shame some of these weren't saved for Be Here Now.
I actually think this is on par with Morning Glory but not Definitely Maybe. Really dumbfounded by your ratings for Rockin Chair and Going Nowhere.
For me Oasis are one of the strongest B Side bands of all time. Bearing in mind there's about 30 other good tunes that aren't on this compilation. e.g Let's All Make Believe, Idler's Dream, D'yer Wanna Be Spaceman, Shout It Out Loud, Eyeball Tickler, The Fame...

I'm glad to see this album is getting it's due. Every song is good.

Arms round one another's shoulders, swaying. Intoxicated and belting out the chorus to The Masterplan.
You don't get it? You don't dig it? Get back to Swans you sap.
