The title track is pretty awesome. The solo is catchy. This is a good CD but no way near as good as their older ones like Jester Race and Colony.

Good review. I bought this CD when I was first easing myself more and more into heavier stuff and I pretty much dug it right off the bat. Nice balance between the soft and heavy. Anyway agreed alot with what you said. Great album.

Despite the lack of praise this album gets, it is definitely solid and has some very good tracks.

R2R is not a solid album in my opinion. It lives because it has a few tracks that redeem it. (Mainly Drifter and Dawn Of A New Day IMO, although Cloud Connected is also good). This is not a good album, it has good songs.
That's why this is worse than any of their previous albums. Still listenable though, and better than STYE, which has one excellent song, two good ones, and the rest is crap.

If you think so little of it then why did you rate it as high as a 3.5?

I don't like it as a solid, coherent album. I like most of the songs as individual tracks, which leads to the album rating I gave, although I doubted a long time about giving this 3.5 or 3. Some songs really make this album float very well, like Drifter, but it just lacks that consistency, it's like a rollercoaster album; it has its ups and downs, and the pro songs somewhat outshine the con songs on this album.
Also I hate really trashing bands when their musicality is good, there's no need to be total harsh on some bands. Some people gave this album a lot of trash for calling it Nu-Metal; I don't think these guys are nu-metal at all. They don't live up to their full potential on this album, I will concede that; nevertheless I quite like the musicality on some of the songs here.
I don't think little of this album; I think less of it than I think of the other In Flames records. It's not a BAD record. It's just not an excellent record. It's a quite good record. But you're right, I may have been slightly generous with my rating; I could give this a 3 instead of a 3.5. It's just like a 3.25 and I was in a good mood.
Let's be optimistic here guys; if it wasn't for these guys, a lot of other bands would lack a lot of inspiration. We don't always have to be nasty to bands.

This album turned me on majorly to In Flames...Come Clarity was good but this is almost a masterpiece...Colony was just a hair better

Masterpiece? That's a little bit strong of a word. Great album, not nearly as good as Clayman (their defining moment), mostly because they spend so much time leading up to ten second guitar solos. Bjorn and Jesper could have easily extended those things, and really added to the album. Just listen to Drifter's solo. wtf?

What Clayman you can practically call Colony II...it wasn't redifineing at all its sounds almost the same as Colony which is why I don't really like that album compared to others because they didn't change there sound at all from Colony(the classic).
