This album is pretty good, to be honest I don't really see too much of a change from WIITB than what you guys are describing. If anything, I would say its a much better album, and I like the dark qualities to it, and the wider range of musical styles going on here. Nates voice is still awesome, and he displays a wider range of vocals on this album too.

It's still the older Finch, with screaming and clean moments. Only I think these guys have matured more on this. Theyve had the sense to move away from being a cookie-cutter 'Emo Punk' band and have made something better.

This is a huge step forward for Mr. Barcalow and all the members of Finch, while lots of people hate this album, I personally love it. I actually enjoyed every song on the album some more than others. My personal favorites were Insomniatic Meat, Reduced to teeth, Ravenous, A peice of mind, casket of RU, and Dreams Of Psilocybin.

Some of the songs take getting used too. I love all their new lyrics. They seem very complex and probably have many secret meanings we will probably never know.

I admired the fact that they werent afraid to go somewhere new with vocals, lyrics, basically everything. I dont think they sound like anyhting I have ever heard so I wont try to compare.

Some of the songs take some getting used to. However, it is a worthy attempt and shows that Finch will not conform to what their label (Drive-Thru) wanted (to create another What is it to Burn).

It is a mistake however, to say that Finch conformed with their first album as WIITB was one of the first Emo/Pop-Punk albums to hit the mainstream. However, SHTS is a good attempt at creating some unique and more importantly interesting and complex music

Cerainly SHTS is an amazing album musically. They change time signatures like nobody's business, and I love Nate's lyrics! Too bad they broke up...
