I wouldn't have got this album except for I had some gift cards and I needed to buy something :P. So I bought it and I pretty much agree with what the majority on here have said that it is very generic and watered down music. TCOT had a more unique sound and they basicially traded it to be just like ever other post-hardcore band out there who are trying to be "hardcore". This is a I'm-going-to-put-this-in-right-before-I-go-to-bed-because-its-that-boring album.

how the hell can they be pop they scream
but maybe screaming can be pop but i dont think so

i used to be such a huge fan of underoath until this cd came out. The new singer is ok, he juss sounds like every other band out there today. Before they had that distinctive scream, but sadly have lost it. I found myself only liking a few of the songs (3 or 4 of them), whereas on their last cds with the other singer (cannot remember his name), i loved all the songs. i was very VERY dissapointed with this one. id give it a 2 out of 5, mostly because theyve lost all originality.

I love this album, even though it tends to get repetitive, it's still amazing, they've definetely matured in their sound and have become tighter as a band since their first two releases.

Ok Underoath is amazing. The screaming does not sound at all like the "Hawthorne Heights" screaming but the not screaming singer has a slight similarity to HH. And "The Used" doesn't suck they own you all.
|
| |
Haha...arguing about the screaming. To me, all of the screaming in todays newer hardcore/emo music sounds exactly the same; unless your talking about REFUSED screaming...which is good screaming.
|
| |
First off, the used doesn't suck, second How does underoath sound like hawthorne heights? They suck ass with there fake ass screaming and horrible lyrics, maybe you should check out it more.

Wow, after you first commented on my Slipknot review Rusty Knives I figured we wouldn't like the same music, but I like Underoath and The Used a lot and I HATE Hathorne Heights.
double lol

Yeah, I pretty much despise hawthorne heights. I say that on the hawthorne heights review. Which I think everyone else did to

^Same for me

Underoath=very good. Hawthorne Heights=not so good.
Havn't heard a lot from this album, just a few songs but I like the direction they've gone. "Selling-out" is an overused and ill-concieved term. They've matured and have evolved into something more complex than they were before.
36 minutes isn't that short. Just remember that Opposite of December by Poison the Well was only 28 minutes, and that was a landmark album.

first off all comparing underoath to hawthorne heights is ridiculous anyone to make any comparison between the two might as well end it all because they arent worth the air that they are wasting by breathing second off ,Kripes, saying that an album isnt worth buying and then rating it a 4 is retarded and finally although not as good as there earlier stuff its still good and the nem stuff that they are playing live sorta hints that they are goin for a harder sound on their next cd
|
| |
Well, they said underoath sounded like hawthorne heights on the first page, it's pretty ridicilous. They sound nothing like them. Underoath is way better.

I'm really not a fan of this album. I find it to be (minus a couple songs) rather boring.

this album is really good its just a shame they only wrote 9 songs and put that crap filler bit in just to make it up to 10.

I can't stand this band.
At all.
|
| |
Everyone at my highschool always raves about this band, I don't really understand why.
I think that underOATH has one decent song and I've listened to two of their albums.
