I havnt heard alot of NIN, but this album is a cracker. The Hand That Feeds is the pick of the bunch. Ive just written a KoRn review for their new Album S.Y.O.T.O.S and i can see how NIN had a massive effect on KoRn's new release.

This album didn't really stand up to the test of time in my opinion. To be honest I'm already sick of it. The Downward Spiral and the Fragile get a lot more play and I think they deserve it.

You know what? I like Jakalope more than this album... a lot more.

I don't think this album gets the attention that it deserves, personally... I feel this is on par with the greats, such as The Downward Spiral. I sort of feel this way because of the reflection that takes place in the music and all the little ties in the lyrics that can take you back through the discography. Sort of a nostalgia thing.

I'm a NIN fanboy and right now, i'd say it's a 4, but I have heard it takes time to truly sink in. SO i'll keep listening.

Beside you in time is a materpiece.

And what's wrong with Trent's falsetto? I think he can hit a high note very nicely. This Message Edited On 04.12.06

When I got past the cheap thrills of the first few tracks, I was like, wha... why am I listening to this?

It's for this reason I've put of rating the album despite having had it nearly a year.

But I gave it another chance, listened to it a few times... and now I understand. This is some good stuff, the best tracks are not the singles or the pop songs but the ones you actually have to make an effort with. You have to put some of yourself into it but once you do, you get a whole lot more back. Tracks like Love Is Not Enough, With Teeth and the incredible Right Where It Belongs display this perfectly.

Great stuff, but I'm not holding my breath for the next album as it took 6 years to do this one.

I actualy really enjoyed this album, although I've only ever heard that and their first album (name escapes me). It's has a certain auroric charm that makes it so great. Top stuff

It's good, not as good as TDS, but good nonetheless. My favourites are probably The Collector, With Teeth and Home (UK only I think)

I never really paid much attention to NIN for some reason, but after hearing Only on Vh1 I decided to check it out. I really like it, with The Hand That Feeds being my favorite song off the album. I plan on buying more NIN albums soon.

With the exception of the last track, it seems like Trent is losing his creativity. Just some average radio rock for the most part.

This was the first NIN album I owned, then I got to listen to The Fragile and said "WOW". Then I listened to The Downward Spiral and said "ehhh...". then Pretty-Hate machine and said "ah-ha".

With Teeth I believe is just Trent trying to reach a broader crowd, But he's leaving his true fans behind. Oh well all bands go through this stage.

The hand that feeds is catchy, but I get a sickening Emo feeling when I watch the video.

good review.

Obviously, its a good thing that this album is meant to reach a broader crowd, as it turned you and many others on to the band.

Considering Nine Inch Nails is, for the most part, one musician, I would have to say NIN>>>>>Mudvayne

I know Ryan and Spug are great, especially for nu-metal, but I'm just saying that Mudvayne isn't a single person like Nine Inch Nails is.

Trent Reznor is sort of melodramatic. All of his albums seem to incorporate the lyric "nothing can stop me now", not to mention his overt obsession with calling humans "pigs". The Fragile murders this album, same with TDS.
