The Rising End is bad??? Not from what I heard.

Yeah I agree. The high end is cranked so high I can barely hear what he's playing, and not to mention he's playing with a pick which also makes the tone of the bass extremly tinny and thin, which is not what bass is for. Substance wise, he's allright, I've heard better, I've heard worse, but he does really play all the guitar parts note for note, doesn't he?

Zao isn't a christian band period. The vocalist, Dan, however is a christian. He simply writes lyrics pertaining to events in his life. He isn't trying to send the message that you should become a christian, but more or so his personal feelings on god. Great album...over listened to it by about 102031023125412 times...but still good.

I don't like it at all. Quite frankly, there are only 2 or 3 worthwhile songs on here while the rest are weak and rehashed.

Yeah, not that great. Some good songs, but just not up to par. Definitely not a 5. They are christian. They just dont preach. This Message Edited On 11.01.07

The last song on the US release is great... I can't get into the rest of it. This is also the only CD by them I've ever heard.

I might have to do that... they seemed to have potential, but I couldn't get into this album... I just bought it on a whim because it sounded like something I might like.

My Favorite Zao album, by far. also being a bass player, listening to a lot of metal is useless to try and learn, because you never hear any of it, but this album puts the bass in front of most everything on here, and i love playing every song on this album.
its not really worth a 5, but i rated it only because its in my top 5 favorites album EVER.
Most definitely their best work, if not their most cohesive venture.

Delicious album.

Psalm of the City of the Dead is by far my favorite Zao song. Reminds me of Orion.

The lyrics on this album are among my favorites. I think it's my favorite concept album and my favorite Zao album.

The album is in fact a concept album, narrating an apocalyptic story in which God, fed up with the path chosen by humanity, decides to disappear, leaving humanity to its fate. Subsequently, the world falls into a state of war and self-destruction. However, man soon reverts to a state in which he waits for God to return."
