meshuggah are gods
chaosphere is a good album too but not as good as this one
that review pretty much gave it justice- although i dont agree with what you said about Future Breed Machine

This album is great, but it lacks consistency. Kidman's vocals aren't as well developed as they are on Chaosphere or Nothing, but there are so many classics on this album.

Seeing them live this October!

This is my favorite Meshuggah album. But how come you dissed "Future Breed Machine"?! It's one of the best songs ever!

The lyrics are amazing as well, and the songs flow with a similar topic. This Message Edited On 09.19.05

I have to say, this is a lot more than a "like" album for me...it's my favorite Meshuggah album, and one of the best in the genre.

My tastes have changed greatly, but this still gets in the old Walkman once a week.

This review is a disgrace to Meshuggah.

If you can't listen to Future Breed Machine, let someone else review it and give it a decent review. If it's hard to handle for you, don't even bother.

This is my second favorite release of theirs (I feel that the None EP is more consistant in quality). The only comment I'd like to make about your review is that you made the mistake of assuming that they play in weird time signatures. If you listen closely, you can hear the cymbals steadily ticking away in 4/4 behind the other instruments playing in 5/4 or 3/4 or whatever, depending on the song. If you focus on the weird rhythms going in 4/4, it'll sound much smoother than if you just think of it as jerky noise riffs. The drumming is really what makes or breaks this band for people, and it's just a matter of hearing it the right way.
