I don't really like this album. Orchestra kind of ruins it for me. But it's still nice

Awesome review. 5/5 for me though ! This is a classic album and DVD, I find alot of the songs on S&M better than originals ! The idea was good and it worked very well, it's different but adds a bit of 'spice'.

this cd is veery fuckin powerful...i think all of the songs are improved, but mostly, "devil's dance" sounds soooooooooo fuckin good on this cd, i preety much didn't like the original version, although the bass riff is pretty good, the song isnt. and battery sounds waaaay more better and more powerful than on puppetz...excelent cd...5/5...great review

I have the DVD version and I watch it religiously on rainy days. Amazing live album from an amazing band. Excellent review by the way. Thumbs up!

This is my favourite Metallica album, I had to give it a 5 because I gave the Black a 4

The what?
|

i love this album...i like the way hero of the day and battery we're tweaked just a little bit...this album made me like some of the load and re-load songs i didn't like as much before...

Good review, i would've given one a 6/5. It sends shivers down your spine......
|
| |
I dont really like the version of One on here, the orchestra really overpowers the guitars in the intro opener and solo. But I get shivers down my spine after James yells "Oh please God help me!" and it goes right into the solo
and "The Matrix," i think he was talking about the Black Album, aka "metallica"
|
| |
That's exactly the same point as i get it - and on the NO! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOO! before the fast solo
|
| |
great review, but if you must know Nothing Else Matters was not Metallica's first slow song. it was Fade To Black
i gotta check out this album now, the classical/metal duo sounds like a very cool concept.

An experiment that could've gone wrong, but went very, very right.
Highlights...hmm...MoP, Fuel, and The Memory Remains off disc 1...and Nothing Else Matters, One, and Until It Sleeps off disc 2.
Battery and Enter Sandman were dissapointing, but I love the highlights I mentioned above more than I do their album counterparts. Particularly Nothing Else Matters...the more prominent orchestra, the late entry of the drums, and that simple yet beautiful solo all come together perfectly here...
And at the end of Fuel, when James says 'Whoa, that felt good...'
Yes it did (:

Oh, and the (then) new songs totally pwned too
|
| |
Orchestra is not very metal
|
| |
Orchestra can be very metal if used correctly. It isnt metal in this CD but if you listen to some Cradle of Filth and some other dark/black metal bands that occasionally use orchestra it sounds awesome.

Like the review, i've heard bits of the album, and so far so good, but I've heard the intro to battery on this, it comes nowhere near the original, that's one of the best intros ever.
Ochestras make anyone sound good, I thought that was well known, there's an album of marilyn manson songs, they are very good as well, hell, Kevin Federline Could sound good with an orchestra
