"Purple and Tiny Music are by far their best"
I agree.
Purple - 4.5
Tiny Music - 4.0
Core - 3.5
No.4 - 3.0
Don't know most of their 2000s stuff, but "Days of the Week" was really awful.

I know it's considered to be one of the weaker STP albums but I totally dig it from beginning to end. Very consistent, dark and heavy – plus the ballads are pure gold imo.

@Ars

Oh Titan, a 2.5? I'm pretty shocked tbh. That's hard for me to digest :[ Love this album to death.

S/t and the EP High Rise aren't worth listening to (Chester ruins the latter one for me) but Tiny Music is excellent, have to say I also prefer it to Core.

damn fellas i gotta be honest, Tiny Music became a drink coaster in my household
as for Core, it is probably top 3 grunge for me......huuuuuge album

Core is more straight-to-your-face which gives it a very special and brutal feeling. Tiny Music is more diverse and bit more elaborate in terms of songwriting and composition. Both are awesome albums for sure and almost on par I'd say.

| |
I agree with your first two sentences
|
| |
No leg pulling going on Titan dude.
For me Core is nuts and bolts basic rock with no groove but with some decent tunes/nostalgic classics.
Tiny Music rocked more.
Purple was best.
|
| |
Tiny rocked more than Core? Sometimes nuts and bolts are all you need and Purple is indeed very good.
I think Davil nailed it actually.
|
| |
Definitely agreed with nuts and bolts being a good thing but not to the extent where it comes across as a school bands version of 'grunge'
