Everything they've done on Revolutions and onwards is not good, in my opinion. Puzzle is barely passable. The first three albums are amazeballs.

Yeah they started going majorly downhill after this, Puzzle has a couple of decent songs, but after that it's a total mess. Are they still doing arena ballads these days? Last album I heard was like wall-to-wall balladry, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It was so forgettable that I literally cannot remember which album it was.
Edit: upon further inspection I gave the last records 2/5, can't remember which was the ballad-athon. I haven't even rated Revolutions, pretty sure I've heard it though. Meh.

Only revolutions is a perfect pop-rock album. All songs are memorable and amazing live. I understand that there may be people who hate such a big change. I prefer their first era too.
Last album is their worst work for sure. Still has 4-5 great tracks.
The OST Balance, Not Symmetry is way better.

Yeah definitely. Some Kind of Wizard used to be my jam. Speaking of which does anyone else have the version where it says 'Wixard' on the track-listing? I genuinely thought that was the title for many years.

agreed, very creative work after the subpar Ellipsis.
I actually like Opposites and only revolutions a bit more than puzzle but all three are great pop/alternative rock records, especially opposites.
but yes, they don't reach the quality of their first 3 records. doesn't mean they are worthless.

Got two songs in. First was good, second was boring. So I stopped lol. Biffy is never good the first time though except the Puzzle album. Will try again in coming hours.

For me it's the opposite. Nearly every band I have listened to, it's always the older the better.
There are very few exceptions but the first 3 albums of any band almost always have their best stuff.
At least listen to the third song - Recovery Injection.
