I got this yesterday, and its pretty damn good...
My friend was raving about The Glorious Burden or whatever by these guys, but there was no review up or anything really...anyone know how this compares to it or have any other Iced Earth recomendations if I really enjoyed this album?
I'm thinkin about Night of the Stormrider...

Night of the Stormrider is slightly different. It's not nearly as heavy as this album.

Night of the Stormrider is my favorite IE album.
And my opinion > Thor's  So South of Heaven, get the album if you can. You can't go wrong with any of them though.
Oh and don';t worry Thor, I heart you This Message Edited On 05.20.06This Message Edited On 05.20.06

Great review! I think I'll be buying this one now. :thumb:

This is fucking classic
|

Kind of overrated imo. Had some really good songs (especially the title track), but it had a couple throw away tracks as well.

This is good, but I still prefer Iron Maiden. I also downloaded Something Wicked this Way Comes, it has bcome one my fav metal song ever. This Message Edited On 04.29.07

I finally got this, about to listen to it right now.

Oh damn this album is sick. Instant classic, and ive listened to it only 3 imes so far. Im
not sure if my favorite on this album is the title track, or dante's inferno. It would
definately be the latter if the title track didnt randomly explode with one of the best
guitar solos ive heard, plus the chorus in that song is really, really awesome. Diary is
probably my third favorite. This Message Edited On 07.17.07

I totally agree with this review
Dante's Inferno has to be Matt Barlow's

downloading this shit now... thus descending me into the world of 999999 nps velocity, cheesy elf and sorcerer lyrics, and crazy solos and long hair.

this may just be the darkest power metal album ever released. It is so close to the threshold of thrash/speed metal that it is baffling, yet they still retain the power metal edge.
great album. Dante's Inferno, Burnt Offerings, Last December, and Creator Failiure are my favorite songs off the album.
|
| |
I want to get into this band, should I start with this album?
|
| |
YES. Dante's Infero owns very very much.
|
| |
I started with their live album, which is absolutely awesome. This one is great too though.

Ahh Iced Earth, it's been a long time...I believe it's time to rekindle our love affair. Great album, definitely helped me get into this band (though a mistakenly found "The Funeral" was what really sent me exploring) and a wicked review. My only beef is that Richard Christy isn't on this album, he didn't join the band until later. This had one-time Iced Earth drummer Rodney Beasley

I don't really dig the vocals, but the riffs are incredible.
