Yeah, this album was good for one or two listens. The reason I liked HT so much was because they were focused on being a rock band. They used guitar, bass, etc. on like every song. On this album, they relied more on sampling and electronic sounds more, which I don't like. Like the song Nodbody's Listening :puke: . I really liked Don't Stay, Lying From You and Hit the Floor alot though.
When first heard LP, it had sort of a gritty, and sharp sound (vocals) which was awesome and the band knew how to use their instruments which is something you dont really see these days. Meteora was more polished and refined which was a step up but was nowhere near as good as Hybrid Theory
what in the world, linkin park really knew how to "use" their instruments. Of all the bands i hear on rock radio, linkin park has the worst instrumentals. granted they have a decent man on turntables, but the bass player "phoenix" is awful and their guitar player as well is stuck with soundalike riffs on both albums. The thing that makes meteora a truly bad album is how almost every song sounds so alike that you can get them confused with each other. this is low quality music at its peak and the fact that they work hard on it makes it even worse. I used to be a fan but after they pulled the cheap remix album and then this pathetic cd i saw what a bad band they are. they even make most nu metal bands (trapt, earshot etc) look talented.

i forgot to say that you are an idiot for thinking that bands who know how to use their instruments are "something you dont really see these days" listen to real music son bands liek tool, alien ant farm, a perfect circle and dream theatre and dozens of others have very adept musicians. even bass that you can tell is there!

I used to like them i even think some of their songs are slightly catchy, but noetheless they are a crap band. They have the worst bassist in music and not much better of a guitar player.

I don't particularly like or hate Linkin Park, but I've got to agree that saying they know how to use their instruments "which is something you don't really see these days" is a pretty stupid thing to say, as there are many hundreds (likely thousands) of bands which are more skilled than they are.
By the way, what's SIB? Someone mentioned it on the first page, and I can't think what it is.

Well its better than Reanimation. Personally I think they stole ideas from Hybrid Theory, the songs sound pretty much the same. Also, they got to experimental, their songs are going more and more into the mainstream with their poppy metal lyrics and riffs. But, I still like the CD, I would give it 3.5 out of 5, you can't expect something to be better than Hybrid Theory.
|
| |
nah, 3 out of 5
|
| |
How can you steal ideas from your own album? How can it be getting too experimental by becoming poppier?
EDIT: Learn to edit.

Just saying, there songs sound the same, btw, just edited this post, its boring and I did it again. Breaking the Habit is too experimental, its boring, nothing like metal what so ever and the japanese flute thing in Numb, their sound is getting poppy, they should stick to what made them great, good metal riffs and jagged screaming and no other instruments besides the guitar, the bass, the mic, the drums and possibly the turntable.
|
| |
To be fair, none of their songs are really metal. I was just asking because you said that the songs sound the same as on Hybrid Theory, but the Meteora tracks are too experimental and poppy in comparison to Hybrid Theory (meaning they must be different). I was wondering which it is.
|
| |
In The End was a poppy song, and it was also their most successful hit, I think that song turned them into what they are today. Linkin Park isn't exactly a metal band and Meteora is even poppier than their first album. They're basically an emo band with drop D flat tuned guitars, for Meteora, atleast Hybrid Theory talked about some different topics.

Yea Hybrid Theory was better but this is still an excellent album, YDload u just have crappy musical tastes!

HAHAHA!! LINKIN PARK SUCK!
the singer is a complete loser, and their lame attempt to try and merge space-out Japanese cartoon disco with pop-punk rock is just bad...plain bad. I used to like them when Papercut came out, but then I realiesed they copletely sucked monkey balls. Reavealation of whatever their cheapo re-realse thing cemented their badness.
Linkin Park should grow up and make real music.
1.5/5

I can't decide, based on their posts, who is stupider: the people who absolutely hate Linkin Park with a passion, or the people who love them to death for no real reason.

You're cool. :thumb:

Bartender, SIB = Somewhere I Belong
And I agree with anyone who thinks that Hybrid Theory is better than this album...Hybrid Theory had a bunch of different song topics...Meteora seems like a horribly failed idea at a concept album, with the concept being "I want to be me, not you"
That doesn't mean I don't like it, but I recognize it's redundancy

Wow there really are some haters on here... but then if you dont like Linkin Park.. the the **** are you posting here.... go and give (insert yuor favorite band here) a big.. fat blowjob and leave the LP fans alone (yes im one of them), and before i get told to listen to some 'real music', consider, im a tool fan.. im a deftones fan... and if i can relate to Linkin Park over say Led Zeppelin then so be it... but that dosent give any of you a right to flame fans because Linkin Park are sucuessfull...
I think most of the time when a band goes very popular, people loose their balls and **** off elsewhere... only the real fans stay and put their neck out ready for flames from people who ALL OWN THE ****ING 1st ALBUM...
Whos the real sell-outs there... O_o...
