It's an old movie poster for the last one. I would orgasm everywhere if they made another one.

this album is really technical and heavy. Every member comes up huge in every possible. The drums, guitars, and even the bass (rare) do a lot of amazing stuff.
The one thing i dont like is that in every song the band slows down the pace and Muhammad just shreds out of control. It makes the songs sound kinda similar.

I've come to the conclusion that obnoxiously technical music like this just leaves too much to the imagination. I like it for a week but it gets boring as hell with no lasting value. Although Necrophagist is certainly lightyears ahead of all of the wanking technical death/grind bands around, I can't stand technicality for the sake of playing technical music.

I love the vocals and the musicianship, but this type of metal seems more about being extreme and technical rather than musical.

Ewwww, you actually like the vocals? They're so bad...the only real drawback if you ask me.

These guys are definitly talented, and the albums technicality is just short of overwhelming upon the first couple of listens (in a good way). As for replay value, after a while I noticed that most of the songs have the same basic layout, and the abundance of arpeggios can get a bit trite at times. Still a great album, love Only Ash Remains.

I heard they're actually a remarkably unimpressive live band. A friend of mine saw them live and said that Arsis (who opened for them) completely stole the show.

Really Ben? One of my friends saw Arsis and Necrophagist on tour and said that they were both great...but Necrophagist was nailing all of their stuff the entire night.
Maybe their stage presence was bad because their complexity prevents them from doing anything cool on stage at all.

Suicmez might have fired the drummer and got a new one. He has a habit of doing that sort ofd thing it seems - he used a drum machine and played the bass parts on OOP because he fired his band.

I just checked Wikipedia - it just said they left. But when everyone leaves except Suicmez, it kind of suggests hes difficult to work with. Necrophagist basically is Suicmez and whoever he hires out.

The Bass player is incredible. I have trouble playing his parts, like massave amounts of trouble. This Message Edited On 06.24.07

Yeah, he fvcking taps the intro to Only Ash Remains (!)

These guys are fucking incredible. My complaint is that they sacrifice songwriting for technicality, but what can I expect?

You shouldn't give this album a 4.5 if you loved it that much.People shouldn't compare a band's albums to their other albums when giving scores. If you truly love this album, give it a 5.There's no problem with giving both of them 5's.

Holy crap are those guitar leads amazing.
Too bad this band is so boring. Seriously boring and faceless music.

Ahh, the instrumentals used by Necrophagist are just so damn amazing. The drummer of this band is also very crafty and experiments with a majority of his set, which is something i like to hear.. i agree with a lot of you when you all say that their vocals don't have much variation... but either way, this is a great album.

Seven is kickass.
A guy I know who attends a music college in Southampton is friends with someone who is on tour with his band whom are supporting Necrophagist at the moment.
I don't think this album is as good as Onset...
