They are definitely still pop-punk, I'm not going to argue that (I wouldn't go so far as glossy though). I do believe that their hardcore elements are genuine though as Chad (guitarist) used to be in Shai Hulud, not to mention that the whole second disc is them switching it up and being a hardcore band. As far as the covers go, I do agree that just because they covered some hardcore bands doesn't make them hardcore but, it certainly leads me to believe this record was supposed to have a more hardcore feel to it. I'm not trying to sound fanboyish either, although it may be coming off that way.

I would go so far as to say that Chad is genuine in wanting to bring in some hardcore elements, but I wouldn't say that he really succeeded. This album was definitely supposed to have more of a hardcore feel, for sure, but I don't really believe they pulled it off.

Excellent response sir. Glad to see that we could end this on a positive note.

What's awesome about the ISOH disc is that I put it in my CD player with a real hardcore fan (who has a biased opinion of NFG), and she loved it. She couldn't handle that it was NFG once I told her.
