Thanks for pointing that out, I'll re-read it again, thought I caught all the mistakes already.

they kinda feel like a mix between At the Gates, Dissection, and Old Dark Tranquility to me. how is that not generic

I missed this. Great review and sounds really cool. ^^^ Yeah those three bands are whored out like no other and agree with the previous statement however, I love those bands so I think i'll have a good time with this album if I can find it.

Really good so far from the songs off that link (page 1).

this band sounds like the only three melodeath bands ive ever heard that's apt righT?!

I wouldn't really say it sounds like those 3 bands... although you can pretty much make comparisons to one of those 3 with nearly every melodic death band. It sort of has a sound of its own, hard to describe because I can't really make comparisons.
|
| |
well your right, those 3 bands are ripped off in todays melo-death scean, but all the current bands rip off Slaughter of the Soul by At the Gates, and SotLB by Dissection(i dont know about the rest of you but i feel that early pre SotS At the Gates and pre SotLB Dissection are very different from what those albums were), when Eucharist has more of a Somberlain, and Terminal Spirit Disease sorta feel to me. its more apperent on A Velvet Creation. this album has more of its own thing

Finally gave this a good run through, quite excellent I would say, they actually do seem to have a pretty unique sound, not an easy thing to do in the genre.

Great review, you hit it right square in the chest. Very well written.

I found this a couple of days ago for 5$. Why someone would get rid of this beats the hell out of me. Good album!

Listening to this now. Hopefully it actually grows on me unlike the other free melodeath album I recently got (Iron Thrones ftl)
Crysis you might wanna put the link to their site and add they're giving away the whole discography for free.

You didn't like Iron Thrones? They're nothing special but I thought they were entertaining, at least.
This band is going to be on Vol 3 of the free music thing (they were one ofvthe last to be removed from Vol 2). I think Iron Thrones is better than this.

My summary of Iron Thrones: Opeth minus the acoustics + Tommy Rogers without the suck.
That first thing was probably what kinda killed it.....the album felt way too repetitive, and not where it's awesome stuff over and over. Plus there was at least one point in every song where (some) clean vocals would have helped.
I hope to get to a review of it in the next month or so, I'll have several paragraphs for you then...

I look forward to it. I appreciated the lack of acoustics and clean vocals, though.
