Finally finished my review of this, woo. I agree with some of this review and expand on other things.

I think people these days haven't accepted the "unpredictable" type of sub genre. Gnarls Barkley is famous for stuff like that. St. Elsewhere was good, people mainly bought it for Crazy, then realized half the album was techno rock. And they now regret the album. You should really research it before you buy it. I personally enjoyed St. Elsewhere and have yet to buy The Odd Couple. So the final message: When buying an album, always expect the unexpected.

Good review BTW. If I had any complaints of the review, it's that you're being to nice to the album if anything (and it was kinda short). Unfortunately I have to agree with the majority here. This album was almost BAD. Open Book is borders on being unlistenable. And the beats are really starting to sound too similar. But I think most disappointing are the lyrics. St. Elsewhere seemed so much more genuine. The Odd Couple sounds like Emo-Soul or something of that nature. There are 4 songs I "Like", the rest can leave my memory banks for a long time.
St. Elsewhere had little replay value, this album has virtually no replay value for me. And I listened to it a 4th time through to make sure I just wasn't being cranky. i'm starting to wonder if Cee-Lo needs to take some time off from Gnarls Barkley and try a new producer for at least a few songs. Because his singing is the only redeeming quality of the album. This Message Edited On 04.08.08

I loved this album. I still really like it. It's not full of catchy singles, but its sweet anyways. Better than St. Elsewhere

It is cool. It could be better. I don't care. Whatever.
