I'm not going to rate it until I find the rest and listen to it about a dozen times.

Yeah I suppose "wannabe symphonic metal" was a pretty crappy description of the clean vocals but they're just a really lame attempt at being epic. Still an interesting album though, I still need to listen moreThis Message Edited On 03.10.08

I somehow missed this review but found this band while strolling down The End records. I noticed it had an immense lineup so i'm considering buying this.

You probably won't like it.

You've said that about quite a few bands I end up loving. Any bands on a similar wave length to Winds or such and I think there's a chance i'll like it. Im Taking My Body Apart is great, only reinforcing my interest to buying this.

This doesn't sound like Winds (thankfully).

Easily one of the best metal releases this year. You could call these guys pretentious, but its just so much more than that. They make Dream Theatre look mediocre in some spots on the album when they go into their little progressive excursions. This Message Edited On 08.27.08

There's always something new when you listen to any of the songs on this record.

"Formulaically un-formulaic..." I can really see what you mean; probably the only thing holding back this record's perfection.

Don Anderson is my favorite professor's name. I'm going to go ahead and assume this is a different Don Anderson though.

Late with this, but no, it's the same one. That's assuming you go to Washington. At least that's what I'm told.

Great review, and this album is just starting to sink in... when I first heard it last year I couldn't deal with it. I'm really coming to appreciate its eccentricities and complexities. In a way, the drumming is starting to make sense to me. My subconscious understands the formulas, if my conscious mind doesn't yet.
