Excellent review Crysis. Your guitar description alone makes me want to check this out. Plus, cheesy keyboards are always interesting hahaha!
Your first paragraph was really well done. You always start your reviews off with an excellent metaphor that always has me so fascinated in what you are describing. The formula is well done evertime!

Just listened to it after reading the review and it's pretty awesome.

I'll check this out although I find it hard to take Christian metal seriously, especially Christian black metal. Album cover is pretty cool looking although it's kind of a lame and cliche concept. It does remind of Dissection as well.

The female vocals in the first song gave me high hopes. And i still like the female vocals, rest is just slightly above average. But to slight to mention really. So it is worth a listen, but nothing that should be on the top of your list any day soon.

one of the best symphonic/slightly progressive black metal albums i have ever heard.

Even though I'm a christian myself, I cant listen to christian black metal. It completely ruins it for me.

Thats a horrible excuse tbh, the music on this album is great, a couple songs in particular that rule pretty hard. Doesn't matter to me if it's National Socalist, pagan, satatnic, christian or whatnot, if it sounds good, i'm buying.

I heard a few songs from this and they were unbearably gay

It would be kinda like Varg going to sing in a church choir. This Message Edited On 08.13.08

Christian black metal might be kind of a gimmick but shouldn't affect the listener on a negative not if it's good. And this album happens to be solid. On another note once that documentary on white metal comes out i'm buyin it.

great review, i have to check this out

Eh, I listened to a few songs from this. I thought they were pretty standard fare and kinda mediocre.
|
| |
and really gay
it sounds like symphonic power metal with harsh vocals
|
| |
Yeah, especially the song where they use the sample from that popular Christian song that I can't remember the name of right now. But yeah, it's not all that black metal at all really.
|
| |
Yeah this really sucks. It doesn't even matter if its Christian black metal because it still blows.
