It appears Jade is actually an ex-Youtube drummer:

I absolutely love the brutality displayed by Erik Rutan. I honestly don't listen to alot of death metal so I have no idea how this album holds up against other death metal albums (apparently I need to listen to Dismember). This feels somewhat creative to me out of all the death metal I've listened to. Does this sound pretty 'meh' to any other seasoned death metal heads out there who have a great knowledge of death metal? This Message Edited On 02.20.08

Not saying that I have a vast knowledge or overly huge experience but this new stuff is very good. Older stuf is pretty same old same old if you know what I mean...
For like the real good stuff seriously just go for what is known - Cryptopsy, The Faceless, Necrophagist etc

Thats what I find too with older death metal. Newer DM to me feels like it has branched off and certainly garnered my interest alot more than older DM bands.

Cryptopsy, The Faceless, Necrophagist etc

I listen to all three of those bands. I still find that some of the elitists around here despise Necrophagist for some odd reason.

Thanks for you insight TheStarclassicTreatment!

I gave this album a cursory glance and it was really amazing! I will give it a deeper listen to when i get home. Btw is it just me, of does it sound like jfac is just a more shitty version of hate eternal? Idk it just seems like thats what they were aiming for.

Great review. Every way that you could've described this album you did. The last line in Tombeau (Blessed be my brother/Blessed be my friend) really strikes home and the music is a PERFECT match to the emotion of the lyrics.

I don't how anybody can dislike this album, other than the unrelenting chaos, and say they like death metal.

Whom Gods May Destroy is the angriest, most brutal song I've ever heard.
