HTTT pwns Pablo Honey easily.
| | | Well, after years of not being able to like Radiohead, I may have found my way in, with Pyramid Song from Forced Listening.
Any other recommendations based on me liking that? Not necessarily from this album, just in general.
| | | Try Knives Out and No Surprises they are quite mellow like the Pyramid Song.

You and Whose Army, No Surprises, Motion Picture Soundtrack, and Karma Police come to mind , as they are all keyboard/xylophone oriented, but I'm a huge fan, so I might be biased.
I hated this album until very recently, with the exception of 3 songs (Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army, Life In A Glasshouse.) Then I made myself try again about 2 weeks ago, and finally got it. It's not a great album, and probably only their 5th best, beating Pablo Honey, but it's pretty good. Not the first album to get, but still impressive. Although it's hard to escape the feeling that some songs are Kid A rejects, that got put on the end.

The very obvious reccomendation is "Sail To The Moon".
| | | and the not so obvious recommendations are Everything in it's right place(similar chord progression), and Like Spinning Plates
| | | Yeah, "Like Spinning Plates" is easily my favourite off this record.
| | | Id recommend the song that got me into Radiohead.....Let Down. I first heard this song on an Element skate video back in my skating days.... fell in love with it.
| | | I have heard Amnesiac called Kid B because it's mostly stuff that didn't make it onto Kid A
| | | I luv the whole of Amnesiac...I think it's a differant,unique and excellent piece of art.
| | | I love Pyramid song!.. And find it really mind boggling that the song actually is in 4/4
| | | Amnesiac is my favorite.
| | | I like this album better than Kid A, because I think Kid A had some moments where they forced radiofriendliness into the songs.
Quality-wise, I consider Kid A less consistent. On Kid A weak songs like Treefingers, Idioteque and especially Motion Picture Soundtrack are balanced by Everything In Its Right Place, How To Disappear Completely and In Limbo.
This album however sounds like an experiment, not influenced by outsiders, all the way through, and that makes me really like and want to invest in tracks as Pulk/Pull and Like Spinning Plates (though it helps that I bought I Might Be Wrong so I heard the live version). Pyramid Song is among the very, very, very best Radiohead songs.
This is also the album I think Yorke's voice sounds best on. The moment his vocals enter in Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box sends chills down my spine everytime.
| | | Kid A was anything but radio friendly. apparently they releasd it free on Napster before they releasd the CD, then didn't put out any of the songs as singles.
Amnesiac is pretty great, but no matter how hard i try i can't get into Knives Out. Life in a Glasshouse is incredible.
i like Kid A better than Amnesiac, in fact it's probably my favourite album. it actually gets even darker than Amnesiac. the National Anthem is amazing, and Motion Picture Soundtrack is one of the best ends any album. i don't see (or hear) much similarity between REM and Radiohead, except maybe about two songs on PH.
| | | Seriously, this album is a classic.
Its not as cohesive as Kid A or OK Computer and alot harder to get into. But if you can work at it piece by piece, slowly putting everything into place it all comes together perfectly as a magnificent, and confusing, work of art.
Don't be impatient with it is my advice; it's not gonna work for you unless you work for it.
