Sorry Cocaine but -

"nothing but an auto-tuned backup vocalist"?

Where do you hear the auto-tune? And how is he a backup vocalist? He's nearly as present as George in the more recent Alexisonfire

"barely needs him now with Wade singing as well"?

First of all, Wade has been singing in AoF pretty much since day 1. He has vocals on every album, including the Math Sheet Demos. Also he sings a quite a bit, contributes the more complex guitar parts, does a fair bit of the writing (music and lyrics) and contributes the piano as well.

I have just never understood how people can make a statement like Alexisonfire doesn't need DG, when he's the core of the band imo.

He sang more and more on each album and they got progressively less interesting because of it. Wade is far more prevalent now than he ever has been. I hear the auto-tune all over. It's obvious. It's made more obvious upon the fact that he's sounded like complete ass everytime I've seen them live.

I can see where you can get that idea from Cocaine and I agree to an extent. Alexisonfire are the best when they focus on the intensity and fast music; moreso when George is screaming. Dallas' voice adds a melodicism to it but it's quite hit and miss and works only half the time. It only makes it seem like AOF is trying to cater to the mainstream portion of their fanbase, the ones who regularly attend Warped tour appearences and only like them because it's cool too. Dallas has a good voice though, but the more he uses it the worse AOF gets and so does the band's initial appeal.
I agree with Cocaine. This Message Edited On 02.14.08
