I dunno everything seemed so forced on Heaven and Earth. I honestly have avoided everything after 90125 until recently and thought I'd start with Heaven and Earth and work my way back... Half way through it I was like "this is gonna be a long fuckin journey... but I was pleasantly surprised with Fly from here, Magnification and to some extents The ladder. Open your Eyes wasn't good but it didn't make me feel like i did with H&E

Listened to this album again... I went through the whole post Drama discography backwards mostly for the first time and then going with the weakest of the pre-90125 IMO first until I get to Closer.
I started with Self titled, then to Time and a word.. Just listened to this again and it's got so much potential but man they really let Wakeman go fucking berserk on the keyboards ... made everything so damn cheeze. On the Silent Wings of freedom is amazing.
This album is ridiculous in so many ways but it's still more fun to listen to than their first 2 or Topographic Oceans.

Onward has a lovely melody. On the Silent Wings of Freedom is pretty good.

I'm not so fond of track to track reviews, but I mostly agree on the content. I even find Circus of heaven funny, I mean, all that great excitement destroyed in a few words by the kid. I find it hilarious in some way. Thhe closing track is top notch.

Glad this review says this is underrated bc I listened to for first time knowing nothing other than its last LP with OG lineup and I genuinely enjoyed the whole album. Was shocked to see the average on Sput and RYM. Gonna keep jamming, but I’m gonna give it a 3.5
