God Forbid sucks, thats one Metalcore band I really can't get into at all.

im not gonna say they suck, but they're definitely nothing special at all

God Forbid was making metalcore albums well before many of these new bands were. They have awesome solos, vocals, and arrangements in their songs. Thats just my view on them anyways. I'm sure Manntis has taken a note or two from them.

Undoubtedly. They're sick live too.

Haha, cheers man. I like to think so anyway.

Your review for Jane Doe inspired me to check that album out a couple weeks ago. Album rules!

Yeah, it is definitely a grower. Thanks.
Hopefully I'll be able to change your opinion on Architects too. They're well worth getting used to IMO.

I'm listening to it as I write this. So far, the same reaction as last time dude. Sorry! But you were right about the lack of breakdowns in the album. That, I must admit, makes it a bit more enjoyable. This Message Edited On 01.23.08

i agree the vocals are a bit one sided on the album
the ending song is a nice touch though

i think these dudes are alright, i think their guitar tone stands out quite a bit, sounds more like a really overdriven JCM 800 type of tone rather than the modern, very kick ass, but overused killswitch type tone.

oh and i'm fairly certain that Adair sings on the Acoustic song
|

I've only heard "Axe of Redemption" so far, and I like it.
Crunchy, twangy guitars + digg-able vocals = a solid song.

I don't listen to this kind of music as much anymore but this is a ridiculously underrated album, at the very least rivals
most mainstream metalcore from the last 10 years or so
