Youll find just as much appeal listening to this as you would listening to symphonic metal. It takes the same sort of appreciation.

did you just compare beethoven to a bunch of keyboard loops?

Not quite.

Beethoven loved his casio!

I wasnt comparing the two, I was saying how I think people who appreciate symphonic metal would also find something they like in classical, considering Beethoven's musical genius far outweighs anyone in the symphonic metal realm.
He was a brilliant composer, but not as good as Bach :-)
uhhh well comparing the two of them doesn't exactly work out. They both approached composing in two completely different ways. Bach was a theorist/mathematician, while Beethoven (by the time of his fifth symphony) was deeply emotional in his compositional style.
The fifth symphony is a perfect example of that. It chronicles his deep depression and suicidal thoughts over his deafness(first movement), and finally his decision not to kill himself (second/third movements), and then just plain ecstasy or whatever (fourth movement).
That's also why I find it funny when people say something like "oh wow that first movement is so enjoyable." It's about him wanting to commit suicide. :| It's not supposed to be enjoyable.
