They may sound alot like label-mates newest Underoath, but that is definately not a bad thing!
Very good debut album. Brutal, melodic, epic, muscially impressive, haunting lyrically In places this album quite stunning (The Siren's Song is amazing), although some tracks sound a bit similar.
If they continue on this vain however, they could be a force to be reckoned with.

Strong Debut, one of the better bands on solid state. Reminds me more of Inhale Exhale than Underoath but maybe thats just me.
Anyway Awesome Album.

i thought vices like vipers was very underoath-ish, but the rest of it is in a whole new league compared to underoath

The entire album is good, the last song is amazing though

Underoath are better than both Oh, Sleeper and Inhale Exhale imo, but I know what you're say and this is still awesome.
Despite being atheist i love the biblical influence in the lyrics which in places are stunning, and passion they show when delivering them is epic: ''Fatheeeeer, send your rainnnnnn!!!!'' Fuck, it gives me goosebumps everytime! (Siren Song)

the color theft & to flagship are the only two tracks that matter to me on this cd. i mean yeah, the rest was OKAY but dead in the middle of the cd are those two gems, and i gotta say made the buy completely worth it

I realize you think yourself to be musically cultured because you listen to Frank Sinatra and Jay Z but, as someone who enjoys the music of Bach, Attack! Attack!, Hans Zimmerman, and occasionally AFI, you don't exactly impress. This Message Edited On 02.02.09

Wtf? Why would Jay-Z make me "cultured"?
My point was you shouldn't be giving an average metalcore album a 5, and MCR and the Used aren't classic quality either.

its gotta be at least above average metalcore, its no 5 but at least theyve tried to do some interesting things unlike misery signals with mirrors....dunno what happened there

well by having it there, i initially got the impression it was to edit your profile not your comment, it doesnt really correlate to the comment IMO.
but about this album...am i the only that feels like there really is something that's not generic going here but just can't figure out what it is and therefore finds it not generic?
is that what you meant?....no?

No. I mean that from reading a lot about it it makes me feel like there is probably something neat going on, but I simply can't find it. Not sure if it's because that thing isn't really there or because I'm being kinda lazy in listening, but I'm leaning towards the first at the moment. However, Vices Like Vipers is a great song.
