I will always see this as second to Clayman. Clayman has no flaws whatsoever. The only flaw in this album is the vocals. This was Anders first album with In Flames and I think he came into his own after this. After Clayman, I'm guessing Anders started to listen to more Korn and thought it would be great to use Jon Davis as an influence.

While I don't really agree with the review, you write your stance well and that's what I'm voting on.
For me, in addition to the criteria you mentioned for a classic album, I think you also should include its effect on the genre and scene it's in as well. (I don't mean "you" as in "you specifically", I mean "you" in the more broad sense of people in general).

Solid review, don't have albums from this band other than Soundtrack and a burned disk of Colony. However, alot of good songs here.
