In a way, it sounds a little new with some of the unpredictable arrangements thrown in (the end part of 'Unstoppable'). Maybe groundbreaking was the wrong word. How about refined?

Unearth is amazing. thats all there is to it. This album in incredible, not my personal favorite (I liked the Oncoming Storm best) but a very solid release none the less.

I think this is a tad better than TOS.

I think The Oncoming Storm is pretty average aside from a few of the songs. Stings of Conscience is my favorite Unearth release, then this one.

I haven't heard Stings of Conscience but I heard elsewhere that it's their weakest effort. I guess I'll get it then.

Stings of Conscience really isn't the best music, it actually sounds not that good in quality from Unearth especially when The Oncoming Storm and this album are so much better then it. Oh btw great review, love this album.

Great review, man. I'm glad you give a nod to "Big Bear" and the intro for "March of the Mutes." Those are two of my favorite parts of the album, and it seems like they often get overlooked.

Now that i think about it i really like TOS way better, although the guitar work on this is amazing 7-string shredding madness.

I like this just a little more than The Oncoming Storm. It was a hard call to make, as The Oncoming Storm is really what got me into Unearth (I had Stings of Conscience first but didn't really start liking it until later). There really are no skippers on this one though; even the weakest songs (Imposter's Kingdom, Bled Dry) are still awesome.
Unstoppable, Giles and So It Goes are definitely my favorites though.
