I listen to Carnifex, and enjoy their signs of talent...but this band is going nowhere fast. They signed to Victory like Emmure, With Blood Comes Cleansing, and Beneath the Sky, and those bands are symbolic of mediocre although they each have something that is enjoyable

Why come into a deathcore band review and shout your hate of the band?



If you dont like the style, then you are def. not going to like the band.



I hate nu-metal, old school rock, etc, etc....but you will never find me giving those bands a negative review, (unless that is they are just genuinely bad), simply because that music isnt my cup of tea.



Regardless of what all you metal heads think, this album was brilliant when it first came out.

I have seen them live, and that small guy they use as a vocalist is pretty damn good. He looks like he could rip your head off even if he's small and thin. But you know, it's deathcore, don't expect too much.

"Slit Wrist Savior" and "Lie To My Face" absolutely slay me. Excellent live band, as well. The singer is pretty epic.



Also, can I just go on record as stating that Carnifex and Suicide Silence are essentially the exact same band. 4 death metal instrumentalists with a super scene singer that play the exact same music. Awesome lol. (Am a fan of both bands, for the record).

This is by NO means a great album. I do enjoy the production (very raw sounds for the guitars and the drums don't feel so blatantly triggered as most deathcore acts), and I think the vocals are really effective. This album IS great for when I'm in a ridiculous mood and I want something heavy but I don't want to think. Good review, really; I just have an odd respect for how terrible this music is. They do bad... well.

Brocore ftw. Or not. Admittedly, the "what the fuck?!" breakdown in Lie to my Face is pretty good, but otherwise a very forgettable album...although, compared to some brocore, forgettable is better than offensive.
